Minnesota wouldn't build a new stadium for the Vikings... The solution? Hint that the team might be moving to LA like the turncoat Lakers... Voila! Fabulous New Stadium!!
Once one or two teams are already moved there, failing to fill up seats, there goes all the leverage.
As for Thursday's game...
versus
Mike Vick was surprisingly accurate last Sunday. The Ravens have only one viable receiver, and their new offensive coordinator doesn't know how to build a running game. Oh, and their defense is in disarray, and even though Pittsburgh isn't NEARLY as good as it ought to be, I have to take the Steelers to win at home.
As for the second game I have to commit on...
The Dolphins opted to "host" the game in London hoping to land some new free agents...
... but we know Who always wins.
In this case, that means the Jets win with a strong D and a heroic quarterback...
What, you say Flash isn't still quarterbacking for them?!?!! Well, I still pick the Jets.
The rest of the week's picks are pretty straightforward:
Colts are bad, Jags are worse... Indy wins.
Bills D is good, Giant's D needs a hand.
Buffalo wins.
This year, Tampa will go topless, but not winless
Then again, they won't win this week.
If NFC East teams were students, Philly looks like they were finally figuring out how to pass the class, but Washington would be getting a D-. Iggles win.
You've heard of the Great Chicago Fire?
Well, this year you can enjoy the Great Chicago Fire Sale!!! Management is liquidating every member of the team that isn't nailed down by a long-term contract, so the remaining squad must be wondering why they shouldn't just stop, drop, and roll through the season. I wonder if this will be enough motivation for Jay Cutler to finally win a few games, just to prevent da Bears from drafting a top-notch QB to replace him. Nah, probably not. Raiduhs win.
Hotlanta wins at home, and so do the Bungles and the Bolts.
The Packers win on the road, but the Cards win at home. Which brings us to...
Vikings at Broncos. Now, when the season began, I had penciled this in as an obvious loss, but now it is... interesting. Also, the only clash of 2 teams with winning records this week. Denver has a strong D, and while the Vikings offense has scored plenty this season, it hardly looks unstoppable. Minnesota also has a strong D, and while the Broncos offense has scored plenty this season, it looks at least as stoppable. This game will be won by whichever D over-matches the opponent's O. Peyton Manning is clearly the wily veteran, but Teddy Bridgewater has A.P. in his corner All Day. I can imagine the Vikings scoring a lot and running away with the game if their defense can turn over Manning a few times. I can picture the Broncos scoring a lot and running away with the game if their defense can get A.P. fumbling a few times. I can even imagine a high-scoring "shoot-out" in which both Defenses trade scores. I cannot imagine a tie game. I was unsure how to resolve this, until I saw a 2016 mock draft which revealed that the Vikings will be drafting 25th (WooHoo!! We're going to the Playoffs!!!!) ... but the Broncos will be drafting 27th. Now that I know that, I bet that, in the end (by which I mean the fourth quarter), the Vikings will lose steam. And maybe miss a field goal. Broncos win. But ... Skol, Vikings!
'boys over Aints.
Shehawks over the Motor City Kitties.
